red light, green light, blue light,
danced across her eyes
like a symphony of lies
yellow light, purple light, pink light,
filled the sky
like a rainbow
when the rain dances across the sunlight
blood roaring,
breath shallowing
eyes gleaming
she leapt edge to edge
sometimes,
she was lying
on needles and pinpricks
most times,
she was running,
creating an untold path
no one following behind
always was she lost
run and hide as she may
trapped in a maze
filled with monsters and haze
her head spun
the scene changed
“It’s alright my dear, I am right here.” She heard
she scrambled, feeling helpless
was there ever a choice?
flinging her head left and right
after hearing that voice
she was handed a loaded gun
but willingly, she shot herself
she tried it once
it was fun
she tried it again
she forgot the world
she soon understood why she was running
racing after him
chasing her obsession
he had, after all,
promised her healing
her owner and her vice
her lover and her noose
it was a shame,
she fell for him not once
but twice
alas, it was too late
she had taken too much
she was gone too soon
left there with a loaded gun,
and open veins
